Telegram Search Features
The Telegram feature allows users to search posts, users, files, and group/channel profiles with precision.
Post Search
Two keyword search modes are available:
Exact Search
Finds posts that exactly match the searched phrase.
Example: Searching red brick house may return variations like house made of red brick.
Contains Search
Finds posts where the search term is part of a word or file.
Example: Searching lock returns results such as lock, locker, unlock, or blocker.
User Search
Users can be searched by:
Username
Phone number
Group or channel participation
Unique User ID (cannot be changed)
Available data includes:
User ID
Full name
Phone number
Bot/User distinction
Group memberships
Group/Channel posts
Forwarded posts
Replied posts
This contextual information is essential when monitoring user activity. For example, forum users linked to Telegram groups can be cross-referenced with other accounts to identify hackers or illicit actors.
File Search
File search returns results in the same format as post searches. Typical findings include:
Malware samples
Leaked databases
Shared documents and files
⚠️ Important Notice
Users must exercise extreme caution when downloading files retrieved through Telegram searches. Some files may contain malware or viruses that could compromise your device or network. Norphluchs assumes no responsibility for any damage or infection resulting from downloading or opening such files.
Advanced Search Options
Logical Operators
AND – Results must contain all specified terms.
Example: sql AND inject returns posts containing both terms.
OR – Results must contain one or more of the terms.
NOT – Excludes terms from results.
Example: sql AND injection NOT sqlite excludes posts mentioning sqlite.
Regex Search
Regular expressions (regex) allow pattern-based searching.
A drop-down provides the 4 most common regex patterns.
Users can also define custom regex searches for advanced filtering.
This setup allows investigators to navigate vast Telegram data efficiently, identify relevant actors, and collect structured intelligence for further analysis.
